Making the discount real: two questions
The Gangnam price advantage only holds if you're comparing the same thing. Ask: (1) Which device, by name? "HIFU lifting" banners sometimes mean Shurink or another substitute — a legitimate cheaper option, but a different product at a different fair price. (2) How many lines does my quote include, at which depths? Genuine Ulthera pricing scales with count; a proper plan uses multiple depths (4.5/3.0/1.5mm). Ultherapy fits travel unusually well: one session, no real downtime, flying within a day or two is fine. Book consultation and treatment on separate days if your schedule allows; same-day pressure is where overselling happens.

Ultherapy is worth separating from "HIFU" as a category, and the regulatory record is the cleanest way to do it. The Ulthera System did not clear as a copy of an existing device: in September 2009 the FDA granted it a De Novo classification (DEN080006), creating the device category "focused ultrasound for tissue heat or mechanical cellular disruption" under 21 CFR 878.4590, product code OHV. Every later Ulthera clearance — through K260618, decided 21 May 2026 — runs off that classification. Other ultrasound lifting devices sold in Korea are separate products with their own approvals from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. So "HIFU" on a price board tells you the physical principle, not the machine. If the price matters to you, the machine name is the question to ask.
